Duffy: 90 to 100% Sure New Owner Keeps Bills in WNY

BUFFALO, NY- New York Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy said he's 90 to 100 percent sure a new owner would keep the Bills in Western New York, during an interview Monday with WGR sports radio.

Duffy also said that if a new owner demanded a new, the state would be willing to step up and help.

U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) also said Monday that the federal government would also help by giving tax breaks on some of the bonds to build a new stadium.

"There's a load of interest. next week i think the bids will be open, and there's a lot of interest," Schumer said. "But whoever buys the Bills, we're going to do everything we can to lock them in."

Duffy also said the sale process could wrap up as early as mid-July, which would allow the NFL owners to vote on the deal by the fall.

Sources however have told 2 On Your Side, it's more likely a sale won't be a done deal until early next year.
