Dareus Applies For Intervention Program

and none of them are positive. Dareus has a couple of serious legal matters to deal with. Tuesday Mike Rodak of ESPN.com reports that Dareus has applied for a -pre-trial intervention program. The program may help him take care of the felony charges he faces for drug possession in Alabama.

Dareus was stopped for speeding in May and then arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance. The substance is though to be synthetic marijuana but toxicology test results are still pending. He was also charged with drug paraphernalia.

Dareus' lawyer told Rodak that it could take months before a decision is made about granting Dareus a place in the program.

Dareus has another issue pending, the misdemeanor charges he faces from his arrest last month for allegedly taking part in a street race.

The NFL could discipline Dareus for his legal troubles this off season.
