ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Bills Hall of Fame Defensive End Bruce Smith got emotional when talking about his jersey retirement at Thursday night's Bills home opener against the New York Jets.
"I don't know if I'm worthy of all this," said Smith, the NFL's all-time leader in sacks. He wore #78 for the Bills from 1985-1999 and was the anchor of the defense that helped lead the team to four straight AFC Championships.
Smith was enshrined into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2009, his first year of eligibility.
