Bills Defense Improves with Communication and "Buying In"

ORCHARD PARK, NY - After a disappointing first season under Rex Ryan, the Bills defense showed signs of improvement in Sunday's opening loss to the Ravens.

The Bills held Baltimore to just 13 points, 308 yards of total offense and sacked Joe Flacco four times. The team says better communication and players being "all in" are reasons for success.

"When you have everybody all in, buying into the scheme, the defense and what the coaches are telling you, you're going to have some success," defensive end Jerry Hughes said.

"We’re all in it together. It’s not about one man, it’s not about who’s rushing, dropping, covering or whatever. This is about playing great team defense," Rex Ryan said.

Subtle jab at a former Bills defensive end.

"We're all on the same page and the communication is there," Bills defensive tackle Corbin Bryant explained.

We'll see if the trend continues this Thursday in the Bills home opener against the Jets.
