Hutch Tech 14 Niagara Falls 6

Hutch-Tech earned a trip to the Section 6 semifinals with a 14-6 win over Niagara Falls Saturday afternoon.


NIAGARA FALLS, NY-  Hutch-Tech beat Niagara Falls 14-6 Saturday at Niagara Falls to move into the Section 6 Class AA semi-finals. The Engineers will play at Lancaster Friday with a trip to New Era Field on the line in the Section 6 semifinals.

Its the sixth win of the season for Hutch-Tech. That's the most for the school since the former Harvard Cup member joined Section 6 in 2010. 

Hutch Tech's defense smothered the Falls offense. The Engineers held the Wolverines to -22 yards of offense in the first half and the Falls totaled 45 yards for the game.

Hutch-Tech took the lead in the first quarter when Shawn Faulk raced for a 55 yard touchdown. The Engineers added a 2 point conversion when Waulik Jeader found  Dimitrius Simmons in the end zone. Faulk finished the game with 84 yards on 13 carries.  Faulk also had 8 takcles. Spencer Watson carried 8 times for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Demarco Myers carried 12 times for 45 yards. 

 Rodney Bailey had 2 sacks and 4 tackles for losses. 

Hutch-Tech is 6-2 on the season with the losses coming to Orchard Park and Lancaster. Niagara Falls finishes the season with a 6-2 record. 

The Class AA semifinal game will be play at Lancaster Friday night.
