Grand Island 27-Iroquois 20

ELMA, N.Y-#11 Mike Fachko broke off a 52 yard touchdown run with 3:59 left in the fourth quarter to give Grand Island 27-20 win overIroqouis in their Class A quarterfinal matchup.

Grand Island held Iroquois scoreless in the second half after trailing 20-14 going into the half.

The Vikings had a sustained opening drive for a touchdown to start the game but Iroquois answered right back when #27 Tyler Miller returned the kickoff for a touchdown. The teams went back and forth until halftime.

Quarterback #14 Quinn Corrao for Grand Island was 7-12 for 104 yards with a touchdown passing and a touchdown rushing.

Head Coach Dean Santorio was happy with the way his team played throughout the game. "We were disappointed at half because we played a really good first half. We had a nice 17 play drive and Iroquois came right back with a kick return for a touchdown. I can't say enough about how well our kids played, can't say enough about our character and the drives we had in the second half."

Grand Island will move on to the semifinals next weekend to play the winner of Williamsville East vs. Sweet Home
