Depew's Season Ends With 35-13 Loss to Maine-Endwell in State Semifinals

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-Depew's season ended today in the Class B semifinals with a 35-13 loss to Maine-Endwell. Depew finishes the season with a record of 9 wins and 3 losses.

Depew opened the scoring in the first quarter. Quarterback Dylan Sekuterski threw a 15 yard touchdown to Coddy Penner to take an early 7-0 lead. It didn't take long for the Spartans to answer, 23 seconds later Maine-Endwell's Darnell Woolfork ran for a 62 yard touchdown to tie the game.

The Spartans increased their lead to 14-7 on a Colin Lasalle two yard touchdown run. In the second quarter the Spartans scored when Kevin Gallagher threw a 19 yard touchdownn pass to his brother Adam. The Spartans scored one more time before the half on a 12 yard touchdown run by Colin Lasalle to take a 28-7 lead at halftime.

In the third quarter the Spartan's Darnell Woolfork ran for a 21 yard touchdown to take a 35-7 lead. Depew scored with 51 seconds left in the game. Dylan Sekuterski ran for a two yard touchdown.

The Spartan's Darnell Woolfork had 192 rushing yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns.

Depew's Dylan Sekuterski was 9 for 14 for 62 yards and one passing touchdown. Sekuterski also rushed for 50 yards on six carries and one touchdown. Wide receiver Cody Penner caught four passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

Maine-Endwell moves into the New York State Class B championship game next Saturday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse. They will play Shalmont from Section 2. Kickoff is scheduled for 3-pm. .
