Chenango Forks Ends Cleve Hill's Season in State Semifinals, 22-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y.-Chenango Forks is on their way to the Class C state championship. They beat Cleve Hill 22-0 in the Class C semifinals at Sahlen's Stadium in Rochester Saturday afternoon.

Cleve Hill was 11-1 this season. They ran the ball well all season long but they could not get the running game started against Chenango Forks.The Eagles ran for just 56 yards the entire game. Brandon Thomas carried seven times for 18 yards.

Chenango Forks opened the scoring in the first quarter. Isaiah Zimmer ran for a four yard touchdown with 5:51 left to take a 7-0 lead. The Blue Devils increased their lead to 13-0 in the second quarter when Zimmer ran for an 18 yard touchdown before the half.

The Blue Devils led 13-0 at halftime.

In the third quarter the Blue Devil's Andrw Ziegenfus scored on a 10 yard touchdown pass from quarterback John Sweeny to take a 20-0 lead. The Blue Devils scored one more time on a safety by Mike Zurenda. He sacked Cleve Hill's quarterback Aaron Jackson in the end zone with 8:07 left in the fourth quarter.

The Blue Devils completely shut down the Eagles. Cleveland Hill was completed two of ten passes and had two intercepted. The Eagles were held to minus 17 yards passing.

The Blue Devil's Isaiah Zimmer had 133 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns.

With the win Chenango Forks will play Hoosick Falls next Saturday for the Class C state championship at the Carrier Dome. Kickoff is scheduled for 12 noon.
