CHEEKTOWAGA WARRIORS

Mike Fatta has achieved a 43-8-0 record in 5 years at the Helm. Warriors will compete again for league and sectional titles. JV star Keshone Beal will take over the helm from All-WNY QB Eric Bartnik. Other key players include Ka’Sean Anthony, John Sweat, Tariq Whitaker, Jaquan Bush, Malik Early, Alexander Bryant, and Michael Gray III. JVs last season were undefeated again and talent will help the varsity squad who are 19-2-0 in the past 2 seasons. They return 4 starters on offense and 7 on defense. They host Lew-Port in week 1 and Sweet Home in week 2. They play Maryvale in week 7 which should impact playoff seedings.

MARYVALE FLYERS

Flyers posted an excellent 6-2 record in 2016 making the playoffs. They return 12 starters including All-WNY candidates Dylan Casey, Rashad Law, Nick Costanzo, and sophomore QB Connor Desiderio who started as a freshman for Jeff Buccieri. Other key players include Gavin Zbock, Snycier Middlebrooks, Jonah Law, and Montell Ferguson. They have a tough matchup in week 1 with Cleveland Hill. The Flyers will compete for a league title. They host Cheektowaga in week 7 which will be smash mouth football at its best. Key to the season will be the play of the line.

BURGARD/MST BULLDOGS

Bulldogs look to improve on last year’s 4 win season. They have excellent talent returning in Jeremiah Moss, Jovanni Feggans, Tony Maple, Marr’ece Archie, Angel Carson, Dexter Lee and Jihad Loynes. Jason Kolb has won 82 games in his 15 years as head coach. They return 8 starters on offense and 7 on defense. Bulldogs have tough matchups in week 1 against Medina and host Cheektowaga in week 5. They will compete for league and sectional titles. Bulldogs will miss Dominic Prince big time. Key to the season will be the play of QB

PIONEER PANTHERS

Panthers had winning season in 2016 and Jim Duprey does an excellent job in his 15 years as head coach. They have All-WNY candidate in Mike “Rambo” Rigerman who is a tackling machine, Caleb Riordan, Nick Rinker, Derek Piscaro, and Emery Marsh. They return 5 starters on offense and 7 defense. They play JFK and Maryvale in the first 2 games and will be competitive. Key to the season will be the play of offense. League will be very competitive and will compete for league title.

EAST AURORA/HOLLAND BLUE DEVILS

John Swiniuch takes over the helm from Tim Wade as head coach. Key players include Hunter Czora and Jon Anstett. They graduated 20 and return 18 players. The first two games are against Fredonia/WV/Brocton at Brocton and have tough matchup in week 2 vs Burgard. Should be competitive.Keys to the season will be the play of QB and line.

LEWISTON-PORTER LANCERS

Lancers look to improve on last year’s 2 wins. Key players include Michael Allender, Joe Powers, William Duff, and Dylan Morrissette. Matt Bradshaw takes over as head coach. They return 5 starters on offense and 6 on defense. Graduated 13 players from last year’s team. Could struggle this season. They have a tough matchup in week 1 at Cheektowaga. Key to the season will be to put points on the board as Lancers only scored 91 points in 8 games in 2016.
