South Park Sparks

After Winning a State Football Title in 2015 missed playoffs last year even with a 6-3 record. Talent from undefeated JV squad which averaged 35 pts will help tim Delaney’s squad. Devonte Fountain is an All WNY Candidate at DB. Other key players include Latrell London, Ethan Diaz, Daquan Anderson, Elijah Lewis, Clarence Thomas, Brandon Brown, Dylan Farner and Dabeyon Humphrey. Jeremiah Sanders has transferred back to the Sparks from Timon and will be an All-WNY and All State candidate on the line. 

Open with Hamburg and host Amherst in a week 2 Thursday game. Host McKinley in week 4 which could decide league title. Tim Delaney has 48 wins in 9 yrs. Sparks to play smash mouth football every game. Possess excellent speed.

McKinley Macks

Brian Hillery turned program around last year compiling a 6-3 record after Macks won only 3 games in 2015. Have outstanding talent and athleticism returning led by All-WNY candidates Taelon Hollamon, Miles Haynes a tackling machine and Kaiyer Fields who could led the area in rushing.

Other key players include Taivonn Martin, Kavon Rogers, Zywan Young, Brandon McKinnie, and DJ Garaba. Return 6 starters on both sides of the ball. Open at Orchard Park and in week 2 host West Seneca West. Fields runs like a Bulldozer. Will challenge for league and sectional titles.

West Seneca East Trojans

Trojans have only lost 10 games past 5 seasons and should qualify for playoffs again. Have All-WNY Candidates in twins Jacob “The Jet” and Jared “Hawkeye” Maurino. Other key players include Drew Woltz, Andrew Bullis, Shaun Dolac, Nate Walker, Phillip Leach return 5 starters on both sides of the ball.

Host Iroquois and Lake Shore 1st 2 games. Have tough matchups in week 3 at McKinley and week 6 with South Park. Will Challenge for league title. Key to season will be play of QB.

Amherst Tigers

Tigers have had tough luck past 2 seasons winning only 2 games. Have quality players returning in Charles Kilgo, Calik Kennedy, Ja’kye Womack, D’Shaun Barefield who could be a candidate for 1000 yds rushing and Brandon Fowler. Will miss Brian Fulford. Open with West Seneca West and South Park. Key to season will be play of defense. Should improve this season and could compete for playoff berth if Tigers stay healthy.

Bulldogs recorded winning mark in 2016 in Jeff Tripps 1st year as head coach. Return 7 starters. Will be competitive. Have All-WNY candidates in Jason Shuttleworth and Hunter Barnes. Have tough matchup in week 1 with South Park. Key to Season will be to put points on the board. Only have 3 home games. Will be in the hunt for playoff berth.

Iroquois Chiefs

Chiefs lost to North Tonawanda in last years sectional quarterfinals. Lost 20 players to graduation. Rob Pitzonka former assistant coach is the new head coach replacing Keith Marshall. Return 2 starters on offense and 5 on defense. Have All-WNY candidates in Spencer Slachetka and Parker Valvo. Other Key Players include Tyler Tait, Nick Krause, CJ Perillo, Mike King and Lucas Weber. Open with West Seneca East and Hamburg. Will be competitive. Key to season will be to put points on the board. Defense should be solid with Valvo and Slachetka.

Indians return quality players in Jesse Broad, Vinny Draper and Josh Wilson, Luke Wilhelm and Duane Kozlowski. Graduated 15 players and return 18 for this season. Host Amherst in week 1 and have tough matchup in week 2 with McKinley key to season will be able to put points on the board and play of QB.

Lake Shore Eagles

Eagles have struggled past 2 seasons. Look to improve in 2017. Will miss Lawrence Kenkins. Key Players include Caleb Grill, Anthony Mascio, Jake Mascio, Tim Fischer and Alex Buckley. Graduated 8 players and in 2016 9 Freshman were on rosters. Eagles currently don’t field a Jayvee Team. Host Eden/ North Collins in week 1 and have tough matchup in week 2 with West Seneca East. Key to season will be play of defense which yielded 297 pts in 2016. Could struggle again this season.
