2017 High School Football Stories To Watch

The following are Dick Gallagher's pick for the stories to watch as we head into the 2017 Western New York high school football season: 



Who will replace the following quarterbacks:
Dillon Janca, Orchard Park
Jerry Hickson, St. Francis
Eric Bartnik, Cheektowaga
Jon Wolf, Depew
Justin Daul, Wilson

Starpoint has achieved a 17-3-0 varsity and 13-1-2 JV record in the past 2 seasons. Will Anthony Robinson, Mike Parisse, and Aaron Chase lead the Spartans to play in another sectional title game?

Will Maple Grove be in a sectional championship game for the 7th consecutive year?

With Bennett being moved up to Class AA, will the Tigers compete for being in a sectional title game for the 4th consecutive year in 4 different classes (B, C, A, AA)?

Will the sudden resignation of Charlie Comerford as head coach at Timon have a negative impact on the Tiger football program?

Jalin Cooper, Medina 6’5, 180 lb WR/DB received 11 scholarship offers from Division I schools. He has committed to the University of Buffalo.

Paul Woods, Canisius senior WR/DB has received scholarship offers from Cincinnati and Boston College.

Matt Myers, senior QB, is a 3 year starter at QB for Timon/St. Jude and in 2 seasons has passed for 3131 yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 1592 yards and 27 touchdowns. The senior also averaged 47 yards a punt in 2016.

All of the aforementioned players are contenders for Player of the Year honors.
