WEST SENECA, NY- Canisius led by 1, 14-13 at halftime but outscored Aquinas 19 to 7 in the second half on the way to a 33-20 win over the Little Irish.
Aquinas coach Chris Battaglia.was ejected in the third quarter after drawing back to back 15 yard penalties. The original call that set him off was when one of his offensive lineman gave running back Caron Robinson an extra shove forward. Aquinas was trailing 21-20 at the time and drive. The call would have made it 1st and 10 from the Canisius 20 it would have been 1st and 10 from the Crusaders 25. Battaglia was lost it and was tossed out of the game. Aquinas never recovered.
Robinson rushed for 216 yards. He had touchdown runs of 77 and 51 yards.
Cole Burniston for Canisius rushed for 147 yards on 12 carries. He had a 64 yard touchdown run.
Aquinas had 291 total yards but only 10 in the final quarter. RaeQwon Greer had an 8 yard touchdown run for the Crusaders. Keenan Ollison had a huge interception for the Crusaders.
Canisius is home against St. Francis next Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is scheduled for 1-pm at the Stransky Complex.
