Girgensons signs 1-year extension with Sabres

BUFFALO, N.Y. - Zemgus Girgensons is staying with the Buffalo Sabres for at least another year.

On Thursday, the team announced it signed the forward to a one-year contract extension.

Sabres General Manager Tim Murray said in a press release, "Zemgus has grown into a solid two-way player since beginning his career. We hope to see him continue this positive trend."

Girgensons recorded 18 points in 71 games during the 2015-16 season. He was drafted by the Sabres in the first round (14th overall) in 2012.
