McCrea earns Player of the Week honors

BUFFALO, NY (UB Sports Information) - University at Buffalo men's basketball senior Javon McCrea has been named the MAC East Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday morning. McCrea led the Bulls to a pair of victories this past week as he averaged 22.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 steals per game.

In UB's 30-point win over Binghamton on Monday, McCrea finished with 25 points and 14 rebounds, picking up his fifth double-double of the season. McCrea helped lead the Bulls on Sunday afternoon to a big road victory at Drexel as he finished with 20 points and nine rebounds. McCrea was in foul trouble for most of the first half, but scored 16 points in the second half. It was McCrea's second straight 20-point game and his third of the season.

McCrea has dominated this season for UB and he is currently second in the MAC in scoring at 17.7 points per game and first in rebounding at 9.6 rebounds per contest.
