Bulls Use Second Half Run to Beat Niagara in Season Opener

UB men's basketball opened the season with a 76-66 win at Niagara.

LEWISTON, NY - UB men's basketball overcame a slow start to beat Niagara, 76-66 in their season opener on Friday. 

The Bulls trailed by nine with 12:32 left in the first half but cut the lead to just two at halftime. The Purple Eagles led 33-31 at the break. 

But UB used a 15-3 run over the last four and a half minutes to pull off the win. 

Senior Willie Conner led the way with a team-high 20 points. Sophomore Nick Perkins and senior Blake Hamilton both scored 11 points. Hamilton was a full-go after breaking his hand during the preseason. 

Sophomore CJ Massinburg did not play because he will ill with mono. 

The Bulls are back in action on Monday, November 14th at Xavier.
