Boise, ID (Sports Network) - Derrick Marks exploded for a career-high 38
points to propel the Boise State Broncos over the Colorado State Rams, 78-65,
in a Mountain West Conference clash at Taco Bell Arena,.
Marks was 13-of-18 from the field and knocked down four 3-pointers for Boise
State (20-8, 8-6 MWC), which has won four in a row. Anthony Drmic added 15
points and six rebounds while hitting on a pair of shots from beyond the arc.
The Rams (22-7, 9-5) were led by Greg Smith who scored 17 points with nine
rebounds. Dorian Green netted 15 points, Wes Eikmeier added 14, and Colton
Iverson tallied 12 points while also pulling down eight rebounds. Colorado
State suffered its third loss in its last four outings.
Colorado State led 36-34 at halftime after shooting 52.0 percent from the
field in the first half.
The Broncos took over in the second half, shooting 62.5 percent from the floor
and outscoring the Rams, 44-29.
Boise State made nine 3-pointers and shot over 10.0 percent better from the
field than Colorado State.
