Hempstead. NY (Sports Network) - Erik Copes recorded a double-double with 11
points and 10 rebounds as the George Mason Patriots defeated the Hofstra
Pride, 79-50, in Colonial Athletic Association action at Mack Sports Complex.
Jonathan Arledge scored a game-high 20 points for the Patriots (16-11, 9-6
CAA). Sherrod White added 10 points for George Mason, which won two of its
last three games.
For the Pride (6-22, 3-12), Taran Buie contributed 12 points and six rebounds,
but he was the only player in double figures as Hofstra dropped its fourth
straight game.
In the first half, George Mason knocked down 13-of-26 from the floor,
including 3-of-7 beyond the arc. Hofstra was held a to a woeful 4-of-27 from
the floor as George Mason took a 32-19 advantage at the break.
Hofstra continued to struggle shooting in the second half, as it was held to a
mere 1-of-12 from long-range. The Patriots shot 57.7 percent after
intermission en route to the 29-point victory.
George Mason outrebound Hofstra, 40-33.
