Columbia, SC (Sports Network) - Eric Smith scored 12 points including the
decisive 3-pointer with 25 seconds remaining to lift the South Carolina

Colonial Life Arena.
Michael Carrera registered a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds for
South Carolina (13-13, 3-10 SEC), which snapped a six-game losing streak.
Murphy Holloway led Ole Miss (19-7, 8-5) with 19 points and 13 rebounds while
Marshall Henderson and Derrick Millinghaus each netted 11 points.
Carrera narrowly missed a double-double in the first half with nine points and
10 rebounds as his Gamecocks led 34-33 at intermission. Ole Miss shot 5-of-11
from long range but surrendered 11 offensive rebounds.
Neither team led by more than five points throughout the second half until
Millinghaus and Holloway scored consecutive baskets to give Ole Miss a 60-54
edge with 5:07 remaining. However the Rebels failed to score the rest of the
way, setting up the late South Carolina comeback. After Brenton Williams
nailed a triple with 2:09 left on the clock to bring the Gamecocks to within
two, Smith stepped up and drilled the game-winner. Henderson missed two 3-
pointers in the final moments that would have won it for Ole Miss.
South Carolina knotted the all-time series with Ole Miss, 15-15.
