Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - Matt Vest led a balanced attack with 12
points as the Wright State Raiders defeated the Cleveland State Vikings,
50-41, in Horizon League action at the Wolstein Center.
Jerran Young added 11 points and eight rebounds for Wright State (18-9, 9-5
Horizon) as it earned its fourth decision in five games. A.J. Pacher chipped
in 10 points off the bench.
Charlie Lee paced Cleveland State (13-16, 5-10) with 12 points, Devon Long
scored 10 points and Bryn Fobes pulled down seven boards. The loss was the
fourth in five games for the Vikings, who will play their final two games on
the road.
The Raiders took a 25-21 lead into halftime after they connected on 44.4
percent of their field goal attempts and all eight of their tries at the free-
throw line. CSU managed to make just 25.7 pecent of its shots from the floor
in the first half, but it stayed close by draining three of its attempts from
beyond the arc.
The Vikings went just 7-of-26 from the floor after the break while WSU
extended its lead by hitting on 3-of-8 from 3-point range. Vest scored eight
of his points in the second stanza to insure the Raiders the win.
CSU had its Senior Night ruined by a poor 4-of-22 showing from 3-point
distance. The Raiders converted 14-of-17 at the free-throw line.
