Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Damion Lee scored 17 points to lead the
Drexel Dragons to a 63-54 triumph over the Hofstra Pride in Colonial Athletic
Association Action at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
Frantz Massenat tallied 16 points and three steals, while Derrick Thomas
netted 11 points for Drexel (11-15, 7-7 CAA), which has won two of three.
For Hofstra (6-21, 3-11), Stevie Mejia tied a career-high with 22 points,
doing so on 7-of-13 from the field and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. Taran
Buie chipped in 13 points, while Stephen Nwaukoni hauled in 12 rebounds for
the Pride, who have lost three straight and 10 of their last 11.
Drexel shot just 34.5 percent from the field in the first half, but it held
Hofstra to an even worse 26.3 percent, as it took a 33-23 advantage at
intermission.
The Dragons improved their field goal efficiency to 42.9 percent after the
break, and their lead never dipped below five points in the second half.
Hofstra was plagued by 19 turnovers, while Drexel committed just nine miscues.
