Honolulu, HI (Sports Network) - Jordan Baker finished with 15 points and seven
rebounds to lead the Pepperdine Wave to a 63-56 decision over the Hawaii
Warriors in a non-conference bout at the Stan Sheriff Center.
Lorne Jackson and Caleb Willis chipped in 11 points each for Pepperdine (6-3),
which picked up its second win in a row and sixth victory in its last seven
outings.
Christian Standhardinger notched his third double-double of the season for
Hawaii (4-3) with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Fotu contributed 12 points
and nine rebounds off the bench while Vander Joaquim produced 10 points and
grabbed eight boards.
Pepperdine took a 31-23 lead into the intermission after it knocked down 7-
of-14 attempts from beyond the arc in the first half. The Warriors shot just
28.6 percent from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.
The Wave stayed in front and led by as many as nine in the second half. Hawaii
was unable to rally back due to its struggles at the charity stripe, where it
converted only 9-of-20 attempts after the break.
The Warriors made only 33.3 percent of their field goal attempts in the
contest, which set a new season-low for the team that is now on a two-game
losing slide.
