Murfreesboro, TN (Sports Network) - Raymond Cintron led four Blue Raiders in
double-figures, scoring 13 points, as he helped guide Middle Tennessee to an
84-64 win over the UAB Blazers at the Murphy Center.
Cintron made good on 3-of-8 shots behind the three-point line for the Blue
Raiders (6-2). Shawn Jones scored 12 points, while Jason Jones and Marcos
Knight added 10 points apiece in the victory.
For the Blazers (4-5), Jordan Swing had 13 points. Fahro Alihodzic and Preston
Purifoy contributed 10 points each in the setback.
Middle Tennessee shot 15-of-30 from the floor while holding the visitors to a
mere 9-of-27 field goals in the first half, recording a 43-29 lead for the
Blue Raiders at the halfway mark.
The Blue Raiders connected on 52.0 percent from the floor in the second half,
as well as 14-of-19 at the charity stripe, in order to pull away for the 20-
point win.
The Blue Raiders shot an impressive 50.9 percent on the night, while holding
the Blazers to a meager 19-of-51 shots from the floor. UAB also hurt itself
with 20 turnovers and just 20-of-33 shooting at the free-throw line.
