Normal, IL (Sports Network) - The depth in the Missouri Valley Football
Conference has caught up to the early season darling, Youngstown State.
In a terrific game Saturday, Illinois State senior quarterback Matt Brown had
a hand in four touchdowns to lead the 14th-ranked Redbirds to a 35-28 win,
sending the eighth-ranked Penguins to their second straight loss.
Brown rushed for a 1-yard touchdown with 2:44 remaining to snap a 28-28 tie.
With the first of his three touchdown passes, Brown set a new school record
for career touchdown passes. He ended the game with 65.
Youngstown State's Jamaine Cook rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on
30 carries.
Illinois State is 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the MVFC. YSU, which lost at top-
ranked North Dakota State last Saturday, is 4-2 and 1-2.

Illinois State quarterback Matt Brown scored from 1 yard out with 2:44 left to
play to snap a 28-28.
Brown was 20-of-31 for 225 yards and three touchdowns.
Youngstown State's Jamaine Cook rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on
30 carries.

Zach Barket rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown in the win. The Mountain
Hawks won despite quarterback Mike Colvin having an off game with four
interceptions. The Mountain Hawks also lost a fumble.
Georgetown's Jeremy Moore returned an interception 80 yards for a touchdown.

Richmond quarterback John Laub had 372 total yards and fullback Kendall
Gaskins rushed for 97 yards and three touchdowns.
