Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Chris Wroblewski recorded a double-double of
24 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Cornell Big Red to a 69-63 triumph over
the Brown Bears in Ivy League action at the Pizzitola Sports Center.
Shonn Miller finished with 17 points and nine rebounds as Cornell (11-14, 6-5
Ivy) snapped its two-game losing streak. Drew Ferry chipped in 14 points and
Johnathan Gray added 12 points.
Dockery Walker recorded a double-double of his own for Brown (7-21, 1-10), as
he scored 23 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Matt Sullivan netted 13
points while the Bears' leading scorer, Sean McGonagill, was held to just two
points. The loss was the eighth in a row for Brown.
Cornell took a 42-31 lead into the intermission after it shot 45.9 percent
from the floor in the opening period. The Bears fell behind after they
attempted nine less field goals and connected on just 1-of-7 attempts from
three-point range in the first half.
The Big Red extended their lead to 17 just over three minutes into the second
half. Brown chipped away at the lead and Stephen Albrecht made it a single-
digit deficit with a three-pointer at the 6:34 mark. The Bears could get no
closer than five the rest of the way as Wroblewski scored seven points in the
final four minutes to keep Cornell in front.
Despite the loss, The Bears' bench scored 29 points while not one of Cornell's
reserves managed to score a single point.
