Stockton, CA (Sports Network) - An Isiah Umipig three-pointer with 13 seconds
left proved to be the game-winner as the Cal State Fullerton Titans came back
to defeat the Pacific Tigers 69-68 in a Big West Conference battle at Alex G.
Spanos Center.
Umipig finished with 19 points for Fullerton (18-7, 9-3 Big West), which has
now won six in a row. D.J. Seeley scored 15 points, Orane Chin added 13
points, Kwame Brown chipped in 10 points and Omondi Amoke grabbed 11 rebounds
for the Titans.
For Pacific (11-15, 6-7), Ross Rivera scored 17 points and Travis Fulton
tallied a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Khalil Kelley pitched in
13 points and Markus Duran netted 10 for the Tigers, who have lost two of
three.
Pacific outshot Fullerton from the field in the first half 50 percent to 46.4
percent and it took a 41-35 lead into halftime.
The Tigers led 60-51 with 5:53 remaining the game before the Titans ripped off
a 15-7 run to bring their deficit to just one, 67-66 on a Umipig three-pointer
with 1:30 left. After a Pacific missed shot and a Fullerton turnover, Duran
went to the foul line for the Tigers with 25 second left but made just 1-of-2
to give them a 68-66 lead. Umipig answered on Fullerton's possession to take
the lead and Pacific could not answer with its final opportunity.
Pacific lost despite going 20-of-27 from the foul line. Fullerton went just 5-
of-10 from the charity stripe.
