Las Cruces, NM (Sports Network) - Daniel Mullings tallied a triple-double with
28 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists as the New Mexico State Aggies blew out
the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors 115-73 in Western Athletic Conference action at
Pan American Center.
Wendell McKines scored 20 points and Hernst Laroche recorded 16 points and
eight assists for the New Mexico State (21-8, 8-3 WAC), which has won four
straight. Tyrone Watson and Bandja Sy netted 12 points apiece and Tshilidzi
Nephawe pitched in 10 points for the Aggies.
For Hawaii (15-12, 6-5), Joston Thomas scored 13 points, Trevor Wiseman
tallied 12 points, and Shaquille Stokes chipped in 10 points. The Rainbow
Warriors have now lost three in a row.
Hawaii was actually down just two, 20-18, with 11:19 to play in the first
half, but New Mexico State took a commanding 52-31 lead into the halftime
locker room by shooting 59.4 percent from the floor in the frame.
The Aggies only improved their shooting after the break, making 61.1 percent
of their shots overall and led by as many as 44 in the second half.
Hawaii shot 43.1 percent from the field for the game and committed 24
turnovers.
