The Bisons snapped a ten-game skid on Sunday afternoon when they defeated Syracuse, 7-5, at NBT Bank Stadium thanks to a ninth inning comeback capped off by a two-run Jon Berti single.

Batting a grounder to left field on a 0-1 count against Syracuse's Wander Suero, Berti's game-winning single brought Roemon Fields and Christian Lopes home. Lopes had just batted in the tying run at five apiece with a double to left field.

Fields had a big day and was crucial to end the Herd's drought. The centerfielder went 3-4 on the afternoon and also batted in the opening score of the afternoon with a triple to center field to score Gregorio Petit.

The Herd added two key runs in the third inning to grab a 4-0 lead before falling behind to the Chiefs. In the third inning Rowdy Tellez doubled to center field to score Jason Leblebijian from first base. After a Mike Ohlman single, Jake Elmore added a run by scoring Tellez after grounding to a force out in second base.

Syracuse's comeback effort began with a third inning highlighted by a solo Andrew Stevenson home run towards center field. Jhonatan Solano added a couple more runs to the cause later in the inning after Adrian Sanchez and Neftali Soto batted in a single and was hit by a pitch respectively. Solano then hit a double to left field to score the pair and trim the Chiefs deficit to 4-3.

The Chiefs took their final lead of the afternoon in the next two innings. To tie the game up in the fourth, Stevenson hit a line drive single to left field to score Caleb Ramsey from third base. Irving Falu brought in the final run of the day with a grounder to right field, giving him his first triple of the season. Falu's triple brought home Alejandro De Aza from first.

T.J. House started from the mound and gave the Herd six innings of work. He allowed five runs and nine hits in the process. John Stilson, Glenn Sparkman (1-2), and Chris Smith (S, 4) each pitched an inning in relief. The trio of relievers were perfect and tacked on a pair of strikeouts.
