PITTSFORD, NY- On the eve of Buffalo Bills training camp, the team traded quarterback Cardale Jones to the Los Angeles Chargers for a conditional draft pick.
Former Bills GM Doug Whaley selected Jones in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, after Jones helped lead Ohio State to the National Championship in 2014.
In his rookie year, Jones' only appearance came in the season finale against the Jets, when he completed six of 11 passes for 96 yards and an interception.
Following the departures of Whaley and Rex Ryan, Jones fell to fourth on the Bills depth chart under new head coach Sean McDermott.
Jones will now get a shot in Los Angeles, playing for head coach and former Bills offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn.
