CLARENCE, N.Y.-Clarence kept its perfect record intact Monday afternoon with a 12-0 win over West Seneca West at Clarence.
Junior # 6 Evan Harof had a huge day at the plate for Clarence. He was three for three with two home runs, a single and five rbi's. # 10 Bobby Florio also had a big day with the stick with two doubles and a single. He led off the first third and fourth innings and came around to score twice.
Righthander Mark Armstrong was dominate on the mound. Armstrong saw his streak of 22 consecutive innings without a walk come to an end. He walked two, struck out 15 and allowed just three hits in a complete game performance.
Head coach Dave Smith told Two On Your Side's Stu Boyar "Mark was dominant. It helps everybody on the team, defensively when you only have to make six or seven plays. There are no base runners. Its easier when you only have to produce a couple of runs. When you have a guy on the mound that you know is going to give you seven strong innings and not walk guys, that makes everything easier."
Clarence plays Orchard Park Wednesday and Lancaster Friday. Clarence is 14-0 so far this season.
