BUFFALO, N.Y.-A highly anticipated Monsignor Martin league match up between Canisius and Bishop Timon on Friday night did not disappoint.
Timon aimed to give Canisius their first league loss, while Canisius intended to stay unbeaten in league play.
Canisius pulled out to an early lead thanks to Adam Weir's 14 first quarter points, but the Tigers stormed right back.
The game was close the whole way, but Canisius took control in the fourth quarter, going on to win 64-59. Canisius Head Coach Kyle Husband said "our defense was good when it mattered, we tightened up and played the way we need to all the time."
#25 Adam Weir led the way for the Crusaders with 28 points, and iced the game going 8-8 from the line in the fourth quarter. # 25 Demone Harris added 22 for his Tigers, but it was not enough to come away with the victory.
Coach Husband added " Timon is one of the toughest places to play, and also one of the most fun. Their kids show up, the fans always show up, and everything about it is tough, but it's always fun." After this win Canisius improves to 14-3, and 7-0 in Monsignor Martin league play.
Next up for the Crusaders they travel to Fairport on Saturday for a 5:15 tip off with the Red Raiders.
