The Sabres are also discounting merchandise at the First niagara Center. All items at the Sabres Store are 50% off until the first game of the season is over on Sunday afternoon.

Tickets are also a hot commodity. On Sunday, the team offered individual game tickets to season ticket holders (as they do every season). They typically recieve orders for 6,000-7,000 extra tickets, but this time, they sold over 30,000. That is a huge chunk of inventory, according to Sabres V.P. of Public and Community Relations Michael Gilbert, they estimated they had about 80,000 individual tickets to go on sale for the entire season.

The Sabres also put mini-packs up for sale on Monday. Individual game tickets go on sale on Tuesday.

The Sabres 48 game regular season starts on Sunday, January 20th at 12:30 p.m. when the team hosts the Philadelphia Flyers at the First Niagara Center. You will be able to see the game on Channel 2 and NBC. A special Countdown 2 Face-Off pre-game show will air at Noon on Channel 2.

The Sabres season has been reduced to 48 games because of the NHL lockout that lasted more than 100 days. A deal between owners and players was reached on January 6th. the contract was ratified over the weekend and training camps opened on Sunday.
