Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - Mitchell Watt scored a career-high 28 points as the Buffalo Bulls took down the Miami-Ohio RedHawks 84-74 in a Mid-American Conference bout at Alumni Arena.
Zach Filzen added 16 points for Buffalo (17-9, 10-4 MAC), which snapped a three-game losing streak. Javon McCrea chipped in 12 points and Jarod Oldham dished out 10 assists for the Bulls.
For Miami-Ohio (9-18, 5-9 MAC), Julian Mavunga led the way with 20 points and Jon Harris tallied 16 points. Brian Sullivan recorded 14 points and six rebounds for the RedHawks, who have lost three of four.
Though Miami-Ohio outshot Buffalo from the field in the first half 52.2 percent to 38.2 percent, the teams went into the break tied up at 33-33. The RedHawks committed seven turnovers in the half and Buffalo gained second- chance opportunities off of eight offensive rebounds.
The Bulls pulled away after halftime by shooting 66.7 percent from the field and draining five three-pointers.
Buffalo took good care of the basketball, turning it over just seven times on the game.
