KENDALL, NY - An Orleans County man is charged with attempted murder after investigators say he shot his wife, then set his home on fire.
Orleans County Sheriff's Investigators say Dennis Buehler, 64, shot his wife, Linda Buehler, 58, in the shoulder after a confrontation in their home on Peter Smith Road in the Town of Kendall.
The incident happened March 4, 2013.
After a struggle, Linda ran out of the house, got in the family car and drove herself to a nearby home for help.
Sometime after that, officials say Dennis set the house on fire, walked outside and then shot himself in the face.
Both Buehlers were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Dennis Buehler was arraigned in the hospital on Monday.
An order of protection was issued for his wife.
Additional charges are pending a grand jury investigation.
