BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - A 19-year-old man was arraigned Monday on charges of fatally beating another inmate while the two were locked up in a Buffalo jail over the summer.
Tyshawn Ball of Buffalo was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge today in the death of 49-year-old Patrick Yale.
Yale died Aug. 31, two months after a fight inside the Erie County Holding Center, where Ball had been jailed for allegedly starting a fire in his family's home and physically assaulting his mother and sister. He's pleaded not guilty.
Yale was locked up for a parole violation.
