LOCKPORT, NY-- A Niagara County corrections officer has found himself on the wrong side of the law.
The Niagara County Sheriff's Department says Correction Officer David Elliott has been arrested on charges of Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree and Official Misconduct.
Elliott, 56, of Sanborn, joined the Sheriff's Office in 2006 as a Corrections Officer.
Investigators are not saying what exactly happened, or who else was involved, but say the incident happened while Elliott was on duty.
Elliott was arraigned before Town of Lockport Justice Raymond Schilling and was released upon posting bail. He is set to return to Town of Lockport court on February 9.
Elliott has been suspended with pay pending an investigation and hearing.
Officials are still investigating and say more charges could be pending.
