Williamsville Board takes up food trucks

Williamsville Board Discusses Food Truck

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY - The village board in Williamsville let the public chime in on a proposed law that would regulate food trucks in the village.

Right now all the food truck owners have to do in order to do business in the village is receive a peddler's permit.
Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa wanted to do a lot of listening at Monday night’s meeting, and says he came away with several top priorities. One is to possibly set up routine fire safety inspections, and another is to put together a site plan for locations.

“That's our job as a village,” he told 2 On Your Side, “(to) keep everyone safe and conduct commerce in a safe manner. Beyond that, I'm personally not interested in over-regulating this thing.”

Kulpa also told us the board may discuss an annual license for food trucks to operate in the village.
No decisions were finalized at the meeting.
