Abbott Road Repaving to begin September 22

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y.- Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz announced Wednesday $850,000 in repairs to Abbott Road in Orchard Park.

The road, which was voted one of the worst in Western New York by 2 On Your Side viewers, will be completely repaved between Route 20A and Armor Duells road.

"This road receives a lot of traffic on a daily basis, 6,700 cars on a daily basis. As you can see just as we've been talking, many many cars have passed by. So to the people in Orchard Park and Hamburg who have been asking about Abbott Road, we will be doing it, weather permitting, by the end of this year," Poloncarz said.

Repairs will begin September 22, the day after the Buffalo Bills play the San Diego Chargers at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Because the Bills play two consecutive road games after their game against the Chargers, officials believe repairs won't interfere with game day traffic.
