Tim Hortons to sell poutine doughnut on July 1

Tim Hortons restaurants will celebrate Canada’s 150th Anniversary by offering three Canadian-inspired products for a limited time. And they will be available in the Buffalo area.

The most noteworthy of the three is a sweet-meets-savory poutine doughnut: a Honey Dip Donut topped with potato wedges, gravy and cheese curds for $1.49. It will be available only on July 1.

Also available only on July 1 will be a Maple Bacon Iced Capp, topped with whipped cream, maple flakes and bacon bits ($3.49 for a medium).

Finally, Maple Timbits, maple flavored bite-sized doughnut holes ($1.99 for a 10-pack), will be available throughout July.

These three Canadian-inspired creations are being offered in five U.S. stores in all, and three are in the Buffalo area:

• 6933 Erie Road in Derby

• 4066 Lakeshore Road in Hamburg

• 44 Hamburg St. in East Aurora
