WNYers leave on Pope pilgrimage to Philly

BUFFALO, NY-- Many Western New Yorkers are headed to see Pope Francis in Philadelphia this weekend.

Early Friday morning, several dozen people left from Saint Phillip the Apostle Church in Cheektowaga, including 2 On Your Side's Maryalice Demler.

This is just one of the many local bus trips planned for the rest of the Pope's historic visit to the U.S.

One family says they have spent months planning for this day. "We wanted to see him because of the humble message he represents. He's very humbling..he's very down to earth. And we like to be unified. That's why we're here as a family... and to spread his good word."
