ALBANY -- Rep. Tom Reed has been added to President-elect Donald Trump's transition team.
Reed, R-Corning, Steuben County, was named as one of the vice chairs on the transition team, Trump announced late Tuesday.
Reed, first elected in 2010, represents the 23rd Congressional District, which stretches across western New York and into the Finger Lakes.
“We care about the future of our country and recognize that this is a massive undertaking at a pivotal moment in our history,” Reed said in a statement.
“It’s only right that we remain committed to bringing our best efforts to the table to make our country strong and prosperous.”
In addition to Reed, Rep. Chris Collins, R-Clarence, Erie County, has been appointed to serve on the executive committee of the transition team.
Collins was the first member of Congress to endorse Trump’s campaign.
