BUFFALO, NY-- New York Governor Andrew Cuomo was in Buffalo Wednesday to make an announcement regarding the outer harbor.
He announced the completion of the breakwall project and final phase of work at Buffalo Harbor State Park, as well as funding for the permanent home for the carousel that will be housed at Canalside.
This is the first time Governor Cuomo has been back to Buffalo since the Albright Knox Art Gallery announcement in September, and nine people were indicted in a state corruption investigation, including a WNY developer, LP Ciminelli.
The criminal complaint details exchanges of emails between the three Ciminelli executives and two others, lobbyist Todd Howe and Alain Kaloyeros, the head of SUNY-Polytechnic and Governor Cuomo's point-man on much of the state's economic development projects.
The complaints notes months before the Riverbend project was announced in November of 2013, emails back and forth helped shape the project specs so that LP Ciminelli was certain to be the winning bidder.
