Hochul Defends Cuomo's Record on Cleaning Up Albany

BUFFALO, NY- Democratic Lieutenant Governor candidate Kathy Hochul defended Governor Andrew Cuomo's commitment to cleaning up state politics during a campaign stop in Buffalo Tuesday.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino and Democratic gubernatorial primary challenger Zephyr Teachout held a joint event earlier in the day criticizing the governor for not cleaning up state politics like he promised to during his campaign four years ago.

"No one can touch the Governor's record of cleaning up Albany," Hochul said. "Anit-corruption agenda and commitment to passing meaningful campaign finance reform and getting money out of the process, something I have supported all of my adult life."

Hochul also said that while traveling the state she has realized that the upstate downstate divide is not as bad as many think, and that both parts of the state want to come together and think of themselves as one state.
