Police say they found an Apalachin woman who had overdosed on heroin in a car with her 2-year-old child in the backseat Thursday.
Jacqueline Laszewski, 38, was found in the stopped car on Nanticoke Road in the Town of Maine after police received a report of a possible overdose, according to New York State Police. Police determined she had been driving while under the influence of heroin with her child in the back, according to the report.
Laszewski was treated for an overdose by the Maine Ambulance and was transported to the Binghamton General Hospital.
She was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger who is a minor, and the misdemeanors of endangering the welfare of a child and operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired by drugs. Laszewski was issued tickets returnable to the Town of Maine court on Oct. 11.
