ATLANTA, GA - Green Bay Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy believes the Buffalo market is important to the future of the NFL.
The Western New York native made the comment to Two On Your Side's Adam Benigni on Tuesday morning at the NFL owners meeting.
"Everybody wants them to have great success there," said Murphy about the Bills and Western New York. "We want to see it work there."
The comments from Murphy come one day after influential and outspoken Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the league must do everything it can to "grow the pie." Jones' remarks came when reporters asked him about placing a team in Toronto.
There are two groups from Toronto that are expected to bid on the Buffalo Bills, now that the team is for sale following the passing of owner Ralph Wilson.
The NFL owners are expected to choose the site for the 2018 Super Bowl and discuss expanding the playoffs at the meetings that officially begin on Tuesday afternoon.
