When Tim Kennedy was growing up playing street hockey in South Buffalo, he always dreamed of making the big time.
He always dreamed of playing for the Sabres. Now that dream is on the verge of becoming reality. Kennedy signed a contract with the team last week and is hoping to crack the line-up this fall.
Kennedy would join Angola's Patrick Kaleta as Western New Yorkers wearing the blue and gold of their hometown team.
Some might also be asking what's in the water in that part of town. Kennedy grew up within a few blocks of Patrick Kane of the Chicago Blackhawks and Mike Ratchuk, who's playing in the Philadelphia Flyers organization.
