Bills receiver Lee Evans confirms to 2-On-Your-Side's Adam Benigni that the Bills have made him a contract offer.

He's set to become a free agent at the end of the season and the Bills have said openly they hope to retain him by signing him to a long term deal.

Evans wouldn't discuss details of negotiations, or if he's close to signing.

"Well, I don't really want to speak on that right now. There was an offer put out, but, thats all I want to speak on it now."

The Bills selected Evans with the 13th overall pick in the 2004 draft.

Evans was limited Monday in terms of what he could do on the field. He underwent a procedure to "clean out" one of his shoulders in the offseason.

OTHER NOTES:

-Bills rookie receiver James Hardy spoke on an incident that allegedly took place a week ago Sunday in his hometown of Fort Wayne Indiana. According to police, a witness accused him of pulling a gun during an argument with his father. Hardy has a permit to carry the weapon, but Monday, denied there was ever a gun involved.

"The whole thing got blown out of proportion... it was something that was between me and my family and someone saw something that wasn't a part of anything... There was never a gun involved... this will never happen again... and it will never be something that gets blown out of proportion again because I won't be involved in the situation."

-Quarterback J.P. Losman worked with the team Monday, taking reps with the second string. Losman declined our interview request. He's asked to be traded after losing the starting job to Trent Edwards last season.

-Attendance was very good Monday. All but three players were there: Punter Brian Moorman, Left Tackle Jason Peters, and Fullback Mike Viti.
