
The Sabres were set to welcome Teppo Numminen back to practice Thursday, but so far, Channel 2 News'Adam Benigni says the veteran defenseman has not made an appearance.
The defenseman has missed the entire season after open heart surgery.
He'll return to the ice on Thursday for practice, but there's no word on the game line-up.
The Sabres host Toronto tomorrow.
Wednesday night, they had quite a comeback to beat Tampa 7-4.
Thomas Vanek registered a natural hat trick and Jochen Hecht scored twice, all while the Buffalo Sabres were exploding for six goals in the final 15 minutes.
The Lightning led 4-1 until Jason Pominville and Hecht scored 16 seconds apart. Vanek added the next three goals, giving him 31 on the season.
Pominville finished with two goals and two assists for the Sabres, who scored six times on their final 10 shots. Derek Roy and Drew Stafford had assists on each of Vanek's three goals.
The Lightning ended a three-game winning streak despite two goals from Vincent Lecavalier, his 38th and 39th of the season.
