Family and friends gatherered not far from where the crash happened 10 years ago in South Buffalo to remember Karen Kwiatkowski, an 18 year old St. Bonaventure freshman. She died March 6, 1998 when the car she was riding in was hit by a drunk driver.

Her sister, Deanna Russo, has started a foundation, Crusade Against Impaired Driving, to promote awareness of the problem and help other victims' families who are left behind.

Deanna Russo says, "Drunk driving is something that's preventable, so that's why in addition to remembering Karen we want to change the mindset and make people think twice before they make that choice of drinking and driving."
