The Sabres have signed their first unrestricted free agent, inking veteran goaltender Joceyln Thibault to a one year contract. The Sabres have also resigned wingers Andrew Peters and Michael Ryan.
The 32-year old Thibault is a 15-year NHL veteran who played in 22 games for the Penguins last season, posting a 7-8-2 record and 2.83 goals against average.
The 6-4, 247 pound Peters signed a two year deal to continue his role as a Sabres enforcer, and the speedy Ryan signed a one year contract.
Two Sabres have filed for arbitration. Forward Derek Roy, who scored a career high 21 goals with 42 assists last season, and defenseman Nathan Paetsch, a plus ten in 63 games with the Sabres.
Roy earned $627,000 last season while Paetsch was paid $495,000. Both are restricted free agents.
The arbitration hearings open July 20th in Toronto.
