Canisius College sophomore Amber Lindke was named Miss Buffalo 2007 in front of a packed crowd in the Flickenger Performing Arts Center on the Nichols School campus.
Lindke is a 20 year old Communications major and plans to pursue a career in Broadcast Journalism. Along with the title, she wins over $23,000 in scholarship awards and goes on to compete in the Miss New York State Competition in Huntington, Long Island in July. The winner of that competition competes for the Miss America title in Las Vegas in January 2008.
Fourteen finalists from all corners of Erie County competed for the Miss Buffalo title; a tradition in the Queen City that dates back to the 1930's. The competition is sponsored by the Miss Buffalo Scholarship Organization, an all volunteer, not-for-profit group.
Two on Your Side's Maryalice Demler and reporter Josh Boose hosted the competition.
